Our Thanks

We would like to say a big “thank-you” to everyone who supports Ditch the Slippers with their generous donations – whether it be money, or the time freely given by our wonderful group of volunteers.  These are essential lifelines for the group, helping to ensure our activities continue to run regularly and successfully.  All are very much appreciated.

We would particularly like to thank:

  • Crowborough Town Council for their very generous grants across the years, the most recent being £1250 in 2023, £1500 in 2024 and £1500 in 2025.  This helps us enormously with our venue costs and to continue providing transport so that our elderly clients in Crowborough can attend our enjoyable activities each week
  • Waitrose for their Community Matters donation of £833 in February 2025
  • Tunbridge Wells Operatic & Dramatic Society (TWODS) for their regular donation of tickets to our members
  • Wealden District Council for a grant of £1800 from their Tackling Inequalities through Physical Activities Fund which helped us purchase some new equipment for our activity sessions
  • Wealden District Council for a grant of £500 from The Local Connections Fund designed to tackle loneliness by helping people feel more connected to their communities.  Ditch the Slippers used the funds to create and deliver a lovely seasonal hamper to each of our members during the Covid pandemic
  • And all the individuals/families who have made personal and private donations

We would also like to thank Maddy Whitty for her help in developing this website.
