Our Thanks

We would like to say a big “thank-you” to everyone who supports Ditch the Slippers with their generous donations – whether it be money, or the time freely given by our wonderful group of volunteers.  These are essential lifelines for the group, helping to ensure our activities continue to run regularly and successfully.  All are very much appreciated.

We would particularly like to thank:

  • Wealden District Council for a grant of £500 from The Local Connections Fund designed to tackle loneliness by helping people feel more connected to their communities.  Ditch the Slippers used the funds to create and deliver a lovely seasonal hamper to each of our members
  • Sharpthorne British Legion for their terrific donation of £80 which they collected from members at their Christmas event where entertainment was provided by our Singing leader, Laurie, and his musical friends
  • Yoga with Anadil for her wonderful support for Ditch the Slippers.  Anadil donates a share of the profits from her Yoga classes in Crowborough and Uckfield
  • Waitrose for their Community Matters donation of £574 in July 2019
  • Tesco for their £1000 award from their Bags for Help coupon scheme in June 2019
  • Wealden District Council for their generous grant of £1000 in May 2019
  • Uckfield Town Council for their kind grant of £250 in May 2019
  • Tunbridge Wells Operatic & Dramatic Society (TWODS) for their regular donation of tickets to our members
  • The Sussex Community Foundation for their amazing grant of a mighty £4000 in April 2019
  • The Homity Trust for their fantastic grant of £1000 in November 2018
  • Smith and Fermor Charities for their kind donation of £200 in October 2018
  • Crowborough Town Council for their generous grants of £1200 in 2016 and a further £1000 in April 2018
  • The Hug group in Crowborough – a group of friends that raise funds for a local support organisation each year
  • Uckfield Divas WI who made us their Charity of the Year 2017-18 and donated money they raised at the Uckfield Festival and various organised activities throughout the year
  • Crowborough Lions for funding our purchase of Boccia equipment
  • Royal Tunbridge Wells Round Table
  • And all the individuals/families who have made personal and private donations

We would also like to thank Maddy Whitty for her help in developing this website.
